Women’s Day (Berlin) 

International Women’s Day on 8 March 2024 is a reason for all Berliners to celebrate. This falls on a Friday – hello, long weekend! 🙂 Or you can take 4 days holiday and treat yourself to 9 days off. On Lanzarote, Fuerteventura or Tenerife it’s already around 20°, in Dubai it’s a pleasant 24° in March. The snow bunnies among you can still enjoy the ski and snowboard season in Germany or neighbouring countries in March. From city trips, the first beach holiday or snow drifts, March has a varied programme in store for you.

Easter

The opportunity for your first longer holiday. Secure a whopping 16 days off with just 8 days holiday. If you’re looking to save money or prefer to save your holiday for the summer, only take four days off before Good Friday or after Easter Monday. After all, 9 days off is also an impressive number.

You can experience water temperatures of over 20° and incredible landscapes in the Bahamas, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Mexico or the Dominican Republic. Or travel to the island paradise of the Maldives, where dream weather of around 30° on land and 28° in the water on dream beaches beckons. A cheap way to go is to Egypt, where summer starts as early as March. It never really gets cold on the Red Sea, the sea heats up again in March for your successful beach holiday.

Day of work

May makes everything new and gives you fresh relaxation with just four days of holiday and a fabulous nine days off. A celebration of bridges and public holidays. Nothing stands in the way of a city trip in Europe. How about a little architectural history? Then don’t miss out on the works of the famous architect Gaudí in Barcelona. The city of love or shopping heaven Paris will also inspire you. The most beautiful destinations in May don’t have to be many hours away by plane and are located on the Mediterranean coast, for example. Islands such as Crete or the Canary Islands, as well as the Turkish Riviera, attract travellers with warm temperatures of around 23 degrees and great package deals.

Christ’s Ascension

Every year, Ascension Day falls on a Thursday, 9 May 2024. Many people call the holiday Father’s Day, Men’s Day or Men’s Day because it has become established over the years that men go on bike rides or other excursions on this day. If you treat yourself to a day off on Friday, you can look forward to a little break of four days and for even more relaxation, you can also apply for holiday for the three days before Ascension Day so that you don’t have to work for nine days in a row.

Fancy an ice cream in Italy, a city trip to London with plenty of shopping, a day at the beach in Spain or a party in Stockholm? Everything is possible. There’s also plenty of swimming fun to be had, with reliably sunny and dry weather on the Cape Verde Islands in May. Another hot tip: the Canary Islands are usually not quite as crowded in May, as the many winter and Easter travellers are no longer there, and you can enjoy swimming in water temperatures of around 20°. Ascension Day can also be perfectly combined with Whitsun for an extra-long holiday. This gives you a whole twelve days’ holiday and you only need six days.

Whitsun

If you only want a short holiday, you can use Whit Monday for four days’ holiday and don’t have to go to work for nine days. Without any holiday at all, Whit Monday provides a long weekend throughout Germany. Whit Monday in 2024 is 20 May.

May is the best time for a somewhat quieter beach holiday on the Balearic island of Mallorca, as the beaches are nowhere near as crowded at this time as they are in the high season. Enjoy the beautiful weather, marvellous flora and the lush green in which the island shines at this time of year.

Be enchanted by the Caribbean seawater, fishing villages and historic old towns of Sardinia. The average temperature is 24 degrees in May, one of the most popular months for travellers.

German Unity Day

Summer is over and we’ve reached golden October. Time to take another really nice holiday, with as few days off as possible, of course. 🙂 In 2024, German Unity Day on 3 October is also on a Thursday during the week. After the long dry spell of public holidays, this is perfect for a day off and thus four days off work, so if you’ve been frugal with your holidays, why not treat yourself to four days off and thus nine days of relaxation without the stress of work.

An autumnal stroll on your city break, a sunny beach holiday or a magical musical here in Germany, October leaves nothing to be desired for travel fans. The USA is also a suitable destination for your October holiday. You can still enjoy fantastic weather in San Francisco or Las Vegas. You can experience pure summer by the sea on islands in the Indian Ocean. Indonesia, the Maldives, the Seychelles and Mauritius await you with pleasant temperatures around 25 degrees. The golden autumn in Europe is the perfect time to fall in love! Explore cities when the yellow leaves fall from the trees and the strong rays of sunshine create a magical atmosphere. Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon or Paris have a special charm at this time of year! You can discover magnificent nature in Germany in the Harz Mountains or in the Bavarian regions – let’s go on an active holiday! Mountain biking and hiking are very popular in October, it’s much more pleasant to hike or cycle without the summer heat!
